UNESCO Center for Women and Peace in the Balkan Countries organizes the International Creative Youth Summer Camp for children of both sexes, aged 12-15 years, on August 22-28, 2009, in Nea Skioni Halkidikis, Northern Greece. The theme of the camp is “Cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue”. Groups of 11 participants (10 children, accompanied by 1 adult leader) from countries bordering the Mediterranean and the Black Sea are welcome.
The individual participation fee is 50 Euro (for children and adults alike), to be paid upon arrival at the camp. International travel costs are at the charge of the participants.
All costs on the territory of Greece (including accommodation, meals, bus transfer from Thessaloniki to the camp, emergency medical care in cases of acute disease or accident and access to the social events on the agenda of the camp) are covered by the organizers.
In order to facilitate the implementation of the proposed aims, the participants and the group leaders must be fluent in English, the official language of the project. Good communication abilities, previous experience in camping and a propensity for active life and physical exercise are valuable assets.
