DRAFT PROVISIONAL REPORT OF THE MAJOR ISSUES DISCUSSED

The Executive Board Meeting of the European Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (EFUCA) was held on the 7^th October, 2015 in Bucharest, Romania within the framework of the Asia- Europe Forum on Education. Present in the meeting were also the Chief of Europe and North America Desk Sector for External Relations and Public Information of UNESCO, Elliot Minchenberg and the President of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (WFUCA) Dhirendra Bhatnagar.

The President of EFUCA, Daniela Popescu welcomed everybody and thanked the UNESCO Representative, Elliot Minchenberg and the WFUCA President, Dhirendra Bhatnagar for being present at the Executive Board Meeting of EFUCA.

Daniela Popescu welcomed each member of the Executive Board give an introductory speech and with information regarding the UNESCO Clubs movement in their country.

After the Members’ presentation, Daniela Popescu informed that the Honorary Member of EFUCA and Vice President of the Romanian Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (FRACCU), Paula Iacob passed away and requested a moment of silence in her memory.

Before the reading of the draft provisional agenda reference was made to the quorum. Following this, the draft provisional agenda was adopted.

In relation to item 2 “AZURE Magazine of EFUCA’s Activities – Proposals regarding the 3^rd Edition”, Guy Djoken President of the US Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (USUFCA) offered to cooperate with the Secretariat and Office of the President of EFUCA for the preparations of the 3^rd edition of the magazine, while the EFUCA Vice-President and President of the Italian Federation of UNESCO Clubs (FICLU), Maria Paola Azzario expressed interest on behalf of FICLU regarding the 4^th edition of the magazine.

In relation to item 3 “9^th World Congress of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (WFUCA) in Beijing, China July 2015 – Participation of EFUCA members”, reference was made to the events held in Beijing, China, last July 2015.

In relation to item 4 “Metamorphosis VII, organized by the UNESCO Romanian National Commission in collaboration with the ALUMNUS Club for UNESCO within the framework of UNESCO’s Participation Programme”, the Secretary General of FRACCU, Adeline Popescu informed during her introductory speech about the said program which was organized with the support of UNESCO, under the UNESCO Participation Programme.

In relation to item 5 “Asia- Europe Forum on Education”, Daniela Popescu informed the Members about the organization of the said Forum in Bucharest, Romania on 7^th -11^th October, 2015 and the publication that will be prepared after the Forum to be circulated during the 38^th General Conference of UNESCO in Paris, France in November 2015.

In relation to item 6 “Reports by the Executive Board members”, this item was covered during the introductory speeches.

In relation to item 7 “EFUCA relations with UNESCO and WFUCA”, the President of WFUCA referred to the good relation between WFUCA and Regional Federations including EFUCA with reference to its active contribution to the UNESCO Clubs spirit and the promotion of the UNESCO ideals. The WFUCA President referred to some issues discussed during the 9^th World Congress of WFUCA and to his discussions with Eric Falt Assistant Director General Sector for External Relations and Public Information of UNESCO during his visit in Beijing, China.

The UNESCO representative, Elliot Minchenberg talked about the use of the logo of UNESCO and to the issues raised during the 9^th World Congress of UNESCO which were addressed to the UNESCO Clubs movement.

In relation to items 8 and 9“Next Executive Board Meeting”, “Next General Assembly of EFUCA” an email will be sent by the Secretariat of EFUCA to all the Members of EFUCA.

In relation to item 10 “Miscellaneous” the date for the next Skype meeting of the members of the Executive Board of EFUCA was set for the 29^th October 2015.

The Alumnus Club Association organized, on 31 august, within the ASTRA Museum, an art therapy workshop, dedicated to children from the I-VIII school in Arpașu de Jos, Sibiu county, alongside the performance and exhibition of the children participating in the Pic2Drama project.

The Pic2Drama project, financed by the National Cultural Fund Administration (AFCN), it was a novel initiative to bring theater and painting together, through some workshops that were held within SOS Children's Villages Cisnădie, an institution that provides parental support to children, running programs dedicated to young people in the protection system, but also educational programs.

The project included 10 theater workshops conducted by a theater arts mentor, Daniel Lungu, and 10 painting workshops supported by an integrative psychotherapist, Felicia Acsinte. Thematically interconnected, the workshops revealed to the children the role of art in the process of emotional development, self-knowledge and communication.

The activities were carried out simultaneously, in such a way that, the group of children who participated in the theater workshop, the final, to put on a short show, together with the young people who participated in the painting workshops, activities designed to reflect children's results. The final event was hosted by the ASTRA Museum in Sibiu, accompanied by an art therapy workshop, dedicated to children from the I-VIII school in Arpașu de Jos, Sibiu county.

The need for this program was based on the importance of cultural education in early childhood, which is a critical period of development for children. Creating and talking about art facilitates the exchange of ideas and opinions for children, strengthening their self-confidence and shaping their identity.

"Connecting with young people, who have gone through or are going through adverse experiences, it is achieved through the process that art therapy involves. Thanks to techniques close to painting, drawings, modeling, masks, each participant activates his creative potential, with the aim of exploring and better understanding their emotions and feelings. Art itself as a tool, allows you to connect with both group members, dar, especially, with his own self" declared Felicia Acsinte, integrative psychotherapist.

Between 18-19 October 2024, The "Casa Romanței" museum in Târgoviște was the host of the XIV edition of the International co-conference hosted the colloquium "YOUth and MOUSeum", annual project organized by the Alumnus Club, in partnership with the Cultural Association "Cetatea Romanței" Târgoviște (both being members of the UNESCO International Network), in collaboration with the National Museum Complex "Curtea Domnească" Târgoviște, within the 57th edition of the "Golden Chrysanthemum" National Romance Festival, under the patronage of the Romanian and European Federations of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO .

The event took place for the third time in the welcoming space of the "Casa Romanței" Museum, after the successful editions of the years 2018 and 2022. Special guests were representatives from the UNESCO international network: Ioannis Maronitis – President of the Club for UNESCO in Piraeus and the Islands, President "International Action Art" and member of the WFUCA Board; conf.univ.dr. Mokhtar Farhat, vice president for Arab countries within WFUCA.Also, this year's meeting brought together personalities of the Romanian scene, professionals from the public and private cultural field, specialists in ethnomusicology and, not least, young artists, keen to explore the role of new generations in promoting and preserving the national cultural heritage: Stephan Poen – prof.dr. in Music and Medicine, the president of the jury of this year's "Golden Chrysanthemum" Interpretation competition; Sabin Păutza – UCMR member, conductor, university professor, doctor of Music - the president of the jury of the "Golden Chrysanthemum" Creation contest; Elise Stan – prof.dr. ethnomusicologist, producer of shows at TVR; Codrin Tăut, expert of the National Commission of Romania for UNESCO; Valentin Marin – ethnomusicologist, producer and manager of Radio Romania Antena Satelor; Svetlana Bivol – president of the Union of Musicians from Moldova and manager of the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic in Chisinau; Diana Văluță – interpreter of romances, member of the Union of Musicians from Moldova; Traian Jurchela – interpreter of folklore and romances; Floarea Calotă – interpreter of folklore and romances; Adrian Grigoraș – conductor of the Radio Popular Music Orchestra; Petruț Constantinescu – manager of the "Ion Dumitrescu" Râmnicu-Vâlcea Philharmonic, as well as representatives of the Teleradio Moldova Company –

International UNESCO Model , The 3rd edition

Between 12 – 14 august 2024, la Almaty, KAZAKHSTAN, the 3rd edition of the International UNESCO Model took place with the theme "Ethics of using artificial intelligence in education", event organized by the World Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO in cooperation with the National Federation of Kazakhstan

International Model UNESCO is an educational event where participants play the role of representatives of UNESCO member states, simulating meetings that take place within the organization. Students participating in this simulation are introduced to the work and purposes of UNESCO. They gain insight into international issues and become familiar with its key priorities.

Artificial intelligence (IA) it holds promise in addressing significant challenges in education, revolutionizing teaching and learning methods and advancing progress towards the SDGs 4. However, the rapid advancement of technology presents various challenges and risks, transcending ongoing political discussions and regulatory structures. UNESCO is dedicated to supporting Member States in harnessing the potential of AI .

They participated in this event 53 of young delegates from 32 of countries.

"EQUALITY" – the first edition of the FMACU Women's Academy

In the third millennium, in an era of extreme climate change, women still need a lot of change to avoid discrimination. To achieve a decent status, similar to that of men in society, and to combat discrimination and violence of any kind, World Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO – Europe region through the Club for UNESCO Piraeus and Islands (Greece) and Alumnus Club for UNESCO (Romania) will organize the first edition of the FMACU Women's Academy - 2024, by creating an online painting exhibition "EQUALITY" dedicated to International Women's Day.

Thus an online meeting took place on 7 March 2024 with representatives of the World Federation, representatives of UNESCO clubs, painters and their works, meeting aimed at establishing new solutions through the exchange of ideas between the participants, for combating discrimination and violence through numerous training and practice modules, shared experiences and useful activities focused on the following themes: intercultural education, creation of (pro) attitudes against extremism and violence of all kinds, partnerships and networks of solidarity through the arts, building societies based on understanding and solidarity on dialogue, cooperation and peace.

All the works presented were grouped in a film made by the Alumnus Club.

“Around my Being”

On 9 March 2024, at the headquarters of the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania , the opening of the exhibition of the young refugee painter from Ukraine took place, Anastasia Somin – “Around my Being”, exhibition organized by the Alumnus Club for UNESCO under the patronage of the European and Romanian Federations of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO.

Together with the paintings of the young painter, the works of the group of children who are guided by her in the painting workshops for refugee children from Ukraine were also presented, workshops held at the headquarters of the Ecumenical Association of Churches in Romania.

The National Federation of UNESCO Associations from Japan was with us as a partner.

WHAT IS ALUMNUS ?

Alumnus Club is an organization created in the year 2000, that gathers for more than a decade and a half members from 10 countries.

Through its UNESCO affiliation, the Alumnus Club has access to an important network of information regarding the activities developed in domains such as education, science, culture and communication.

The main purpose of the organization is that of training young people in a multicultural manner, through projects that aim at involving them in activities that encourage their personal initiative and experience gaining.

In 20 years of activity, Alumnus Club has offered its members and the participants in its events the occasion to engage in educational, scientific, cultural and communication projects.

Below, you may find a non exhaustive list of annual events: Metamorphoses, Youth and Museums, Art and Civilization in Monastic Spaces, Magellan and the new project developed under the auspices of the Alliance of Civilizations: Bucharest retrieved, the concerts of the National Chamber Choir Madrigal.

ALUMNUS Club was founded in 2000 and consists of young people across the 10 countries.

The Alumnus Club is part of the Romanian Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO.

The club wants to offer its members opportunities to become involved in educational projects, Scientific, cultural and communication.

ALUMNUS Club aims to prepare young people in a multicultural spirit and to involve them in activities that help them in personal and professional development.
