24 may 2020 – reminding us of the CYPRUS – ROMANIA partnership
The coronavirus pandemic imposed many restrictions: social distance, canceled events, cultural projects organized in closed spaces.
The traditional activities started in previous years continued on 24 may 2020 online with a photo presentation of the partnership between Alumnus Club for UNESCO and Karavas City Hall.
The arts are an integral part of life: creation and education intertwine.
UNESCO promotes two main approaches to arts education, which can be implemented at the same time and do not have to be distinct.
Approaching “learning through the arts / culture ”demonstrates how we can use artistic expressions, cultural resources and practices, contemporary and traditional, as a learning tool, based on cultural richness, knowledge and skills of companies.
The “learning in the arts” approach / culture ”emphasizes the value of cultural perspectives, of multicultural and intercultural languages. This type of approach contributes to generating an understanding of the importance of cultural diversity and to strengthening the patterns of behavior that underlie social cohesion..
All this has been found in the projects developed in partnership in recent years by the Alumnus Club for UNESCO and its partners in Cyprus..
