Young people from all over the world gathered online on 5 June 2021 for the first Club Youth Forum for UNESCO, which focused on environmental and social issues. The young representatives had the opportunity to highlight the initiatives and actions taken by the respective clubs and federations to raise awareness, to inform and educate about current environmental and social issues. Each Federation had a representative who gave a speech in which he presented the most important activities undertaken by his Club or Federation., discussing with other young people and at the same time promoting UNESCO's values ​​internationally.

Mr. Jay-Kun YOO, It was the President of WFUCA who opened the Forum, and Mrs. Assel UTEGENOVA, The Deputy Coordinator of the Network of National Commissions for UNESCO sent a warm welcome message to all participants gathered from countries such as Benin, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Cote d'Azur, YOUR, Franta, Gambia, Greece, Guinea, Italy, Lebanon, Financial, Niger, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Senegal and Tunisia.

The representatives presented interesting ideas and projects developed by their clubs on the topic of social and environmental transition, from educational activities to practical methods. By exchanging ideas and plans, the new perspectives offered by each delegation can be implemented in new projects, thus enriching the activities that each club develops.

The Romanian delegation represented by Eliza Vasilescu (Alumnus Club) presented some interesting projects such as the Halkidiki Intercultural Youth Summer Camp on "Environmental Education and Climate Change", Women's Academy or the Romanian-Cypriot Cultural Exchange held in 2019.

The closing remarks of the forum were made by Mr Ardiouma SIRIMA, the coordinator of the Sharing and Cooperation Forum, marking the end of the first of many conferences to follow, conferences designed for young people in UNESCO clubs to share their experiences and work together for a harmonious future.

WHAT IS ALUMNUS ?

Alumnus Club is an organization created in the year 2000, that gathers for more than a decade and a half members from 10 countries.
Alumnus Club is part of the Romanian federation of UNESCO Associations and Clubs, and implicitly of the World and European Federations for UNESCO. The club is formed mainly by young students, and its aim is to offer its members the opportunity to get involved in projects aimed at developing their experience in the selected field of study.
Through its UNESCO affiliation, the Alumnus Club has access to an important network of information regarding the activities developed in domains such as education, science, culture and communication.
The main purpose of the organization is that of training young people in a multicultural manner, through projects that aim at involving them in activities that encourage their personal initiative and experience gaining.
In 20 years of activity, Alumnus Club has offered its members and the participants in its events the occasion to engage in educational, scientific, cultural and communication projects.
Below, you may find a non exhaustive list of annual events: Metamorphoses, Youth and Museums, Art and Civilization in Monastic Spaces, Magellan and the new project developed under the auspices of the Alliance of Civilizations: Bucharest retrieved, the concerts of the National Chamber Choir Madrigal.

ALUMNUS Club was founded in 2000 and consists of young people across the 10 countries.
The Alumnus Club is part of the Romanian Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO.
The club wants to offer its members opportunities to become involved in educational projects, Scientific, cultural and communication.
ALUMNUS Club aims to prepare young people in a multicultural spirit and to involve them in activities that help them in personal and professional development.
