The Future Folk project continued this year 2020 with the online exhibition URBAN Folk in the period 25-30 September.
URBAN Folk is part of the international Future Folk project initiated by Alumnus Club in 2018, in collaboration with the artist Carmen Emanuela Popa and in partnership with the Romanian National Commission for UNESCO, The European Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO and the French National Commission for UNESCO in 2019.
The works were dedicated this time to the artist's grandparents : Profira Munteanu, the archetypal character of the village, a woman with a bright mind and a red rose soul who loved art, which he translated into reality by the colored wool thread which he inserted between the cotton warp or with which he made knitted clothes with various and complex patterns.
This time, the visual composition of the collection signed by Carmen Emanuela Popa evokes the contrast between authentic folklore, the village world and the army, sport or royal accents, through interdisciplinary means of contemporary art.
The village world remains fascinating through the relationship of the people with the sacred, with respect for all that nature offers them and for their sincerity in creation.
