Culture is the sum of the products of human social interaction created to event. Language, coded gestures and manners, artistic and musical, traditions, habits, beliefs and practices are so many individual and community values both cultivated and respected in a society. By culture define personal identities, local, national and supranational. Intercultural dialogue mediates consolidation of routes and networks of communication and exchange.
Cultural education plays a fundamental role in shaping Europe's younger generation; it is the key to development on a sustainable basis a company communication, exchange of ideas and values, tolerance.
Museum – core research and reflection and, alike, dialogue meeting space and preserves traces of material culture, thereby mediating public access to non-material dimensions of culture. Artistic values, spiritual and can thus be shared identity especially young. Beyond the scientific activities (conservation and study), European museum institution is required to meet today's challenges than ever so impressive cultural diversity of youth, and the multitude of existing competition in the market for alternative.
Alumnus Club for UNESCO in cooperation with UNESCO, Government of Romania – Department of Interethnic Relations – Cotroceni National Museum organized during 14-28 may 2011 in Bucharest the third edition of the Youth and Museums III, mainstay with the Metamorphosis project.
Metamorphosis Project began in 2009, conceiving the museum by young European identity. La Sinaia, meeting young people left the definition of European identity, leading to a few keywords from various fields. By definition they started to develop three projects. One of them suggested organizing a museum where each European country to have its space – a prototype can be built anywhere. The main project conceived by youth proposed a kind of Disneyland with a type Greek ancient theater – outdoor amphitheater – and presenting diversity restaurants for food, magazine, conference, small bridges on artificial courses apă.In year 2010, youth group tried to develop a sub-theme – European women's identity – starting from brainstorming sessions and then moving to the achievement of a specific theater, which alternate with parts played parts coated and young people have worked and developed stage costumes.
This year was aimed as the visual research to define a European city. The main activities were: twenty meetings (14-28may) between young, representatives from 9 European countries, have prepared a visual research in Bucharest with the theme multicultural European city. Film: “The European city.after all” lasts an hour and a half and was filmed in HD. The second activity was the organization in central Bucharest Cotroceni National Museum during the program of workshops between experts in museum education from the great museums of the world, representatives of national minorities and youth group invited the project this year. In these roundtables were discussed strategies, methods of attracting and educating youth in museums with the topics of discussion:
a. European City in the context of multiculturalism.
b. How can express in a European identity museum
Bucharest talk of identity as European city reminded of the presence of religious monuments, of musical events, the existence of important artworks of European art such as those by Rembrandt and El Greco, things, which are little known in other parts of Europe. Another issue to consider, speaking European city, is religious tolerance, which in Romania is very high. Bucharest was chosen to be the setting of the film and it is a beloved city, changing, which can be used as decoration to tell Europe. The project has had its composition and International buffet with products made by young people from their countries.
