Nowșul Carrara, in collaboration with the Club for UNESCO ,,Carrara dei Marmi”, organized this year the 5th edition of the competition: Internal forumof the young marble sculptures of Carrara. artistic voices: pace, fraternity, solidarity. Iulian Cristea, nominee Alumnus Club UNESCO, he was one of the five finalists who had the chance to participate in the trainings organized during the period 2-20 September 2019, in Carrara.

During the three weeks of training, the A learned marble carving techniques, taking part in various practical workshops.

Candidate nominated by the Alumnus Club for UNESCO, created a sculpture entitled ,,Restoring peace in a world of chaos”. His work of artreflects the coexistence of order and chaos. Peace is a pervasive element, but in a world dominated by chaos, peace must be rediscovered.

Iulian Cristea explains the meaning of his work right: ,,My attempt to explore the contemporary artistic current represents an obvious visual contrast between organic and strictly geometric shapes., exploiting a part of contemporaneity in which rules are not accepted. I create sculptures and paintings, anatomical structures on geometric trunks, presented in an amalgam of nerve cells and fibers, which often form unusual organic objects.

The City of Carrara, in collaboration with the Club for UNESCO “Carrara dei Marmi” organized the 5th edition of the Competition: International Forum of young marble sculptors in Carrara. Art voices: peace, fraternity, solidarity.

Iulian Cristea, the candidate proposed by Alumnus Club for UNESCO, was one of the five finalists who have the chance to take part in a training session that lasts from 2-20 September, 2019, in Carrara. During the 3 weeks of training, he will develop some sculptural techniques through attending artistic workshops.

The Alumnus Club for UNESCO’s candidate created a piece of art, entitled “Regaining Peace in a World of Chaos”. His piece of art reflects the coexistence between order and chaos. Peace is an omnipresent element, but in a world of chaos, peace must be rediscovered and regained.

Iulian Cristea explains his work as follows: ,,My attempt to exploit the contemporary artistic current is the obvious visual contrast between the organic and the strictly geometric forms, exploring a side of the contemporaneity in which no rules are accepted. I create sculptures, installations and drawings, anatomical structures on geometric trunks, presented in a diffuse group of cells and nerve fibers that form often strange organic objects.”

WHAT IS ALUMNUS ?

Alumnus Club is an organization created in the year 2000, that gathers for more than a decade and a half members from 10 countries.
Alumnus Club is part of the Romanian federation of UNESCO Associations and Clubs, and implicitly of the World and European Federations for UNESCO. The club is formed mainly by young students, and its aim is to offer its members the opportunity to get involved in projects aimed at developing their experience in the selected field of study.
Through its UNESCO affiliation, the Alumnus Club has access to an important network of information regarding the activities developed in domains such as education, science, culture and communication.
The main purpose of the organization is that of training young people in a multicultural manner, through projects that aim at involving them in activities that encourage their personal initiative and experience gaining.
In 20 years of activity, Alumnus Club has offered its members and the participants in its events the occasion to engage in educational, scientific, cultural and communication projects.
Below, you may find a non exhaustive list of annual events: Metamorphoses, Youth and Museums, Art and Civilization in Monastic Spaces, Magellan and the new project developed under the auspices of the Alliance of Civilizations: Bucharest retrieved, the concerts of the National Chamber Choir Madrigal.

ALUMNUS Club was founded in 2000 and consists of young people across the 10 countries.
The Alumnus Club is part of the Romanian Federation of Associations and Clubs for UNESCO.
The club wants to offer its members opportunities to become involved in educational projects, Scientific, cultural and communication.
ALUMNUS Club aims to prepare young people in a multicultural spirit and to involve them in activities that help them in personal and professional development.
