European Federation of Centers, UNESCO Clubs and Associations (EFUCA), Youth Center of Bucharest Municipality, Romanian National Commission for UNESCO, Romanian Embassy in Cyprus and Alumnus Club UNESCO organized a Romanian-Cypriot cultural exchange during 24 – 29 November 2019, in partnership with the City of Karavas Cyprus.
The event was the eleventh edition of a traditional project Alumnus - Metamorphosis – and had the theme UNESCO Heritage Legacy for the Future. The event was the second project, Suceava started in June 2019. The overall goal was to help support intercultural dialogue in the two countries through their cultural knowledge and heritage material and immaterial, in terms of its diversity.
Activities and set out to youth closer to the theme of heritage, offering as an example the exhibition of traditional objects From trunk grandparents, curator Cristina Vasilescu, opened the day 27 November in Nicosia.
The event was dedicated to the National Day of Romania, 1 December, and closing ceremony also included a cultural cooperation protocol between EFUCA and Hall Karavas, signed by Dr.. Daniela Popescu, EFUCA President and President Alumnus Club UNESCO, și Nicos Hadjistephaniou, City Mayor.
Collaboration allocated for 2020 It includes cultural and youth activities taking place under the auspices anniversary 60 years of diplomatic relations between Romania and Cyprus.
